One GigaSecond is 10^9 (1 billion) seconds.

The clock measures time in gigaseconds relative to the start of the universe (an estimated 13.8095 billion years ago).

Each bar on the clock represents a single digit of the current time.

Severely hacky code written by Stephen Gutekanst over ~7 hours with help from Andoryuuta.

Inspiration drawn from shuryear-clock.
